Yay! I received an award at the opening reception for the Rome Art Association 60th Anniversary Member Exhibition – 2nd place in mixed media category. Here’s a slideshow of the opening reception – for those who don’t know, that young girl is my granddaughter, Tori. She’s a very good artist herself and shows a real interest in art, with a good eye for talent (PLUS she’s part unicorn!)

I really was estatic, especially because I struggled with this painting. It sat on my easel for weeks. I knew it needed something. Happy to say that in the eleventh hour an idea came to me!

Here’s a few photos I took as this piece came alive. It was a long and winding road, as you will see.
